Aerial Work Platform Competent Operator training provides the understanding of Aerial Work Platform operation. This training covers both federal and provincial legislative requirements. As per Saskatchewan OH&S Regulations Section 154, Table 14.1, anyone who operates Powered Mobile Equipment is required to complete a minimum 16 hours training.

This program is a combination of both theory and practical competency assessment training.

  • Types of Aerial Work Platforms (Scissor Lift; Telescopic Boom-Type; Articulated Boom-Type; Bucket Truck, Vertical Mast)
  • Driving Modes (Chassis Mounted, Self-Propelled, non-Self-Propelled)
  • Pre-Use Inspections including OEM and Regulatory Requirements
  • Operating Principles
  • Primary Upper & Lower Controls
  • Platform Load Capacity Ratings & Anchor Points
  • Balance, Stability, Centre of Gravity
  • Physical Conditions (Slippery Conditions, Obstructions and Uneven Surfaces, Floor Loading Limits, Overhead Clearance)
  • Pedestrian Awareness
  • Travelling on Ramps & Grades
  • Rescue Procedures
  • Maintenance

Course Cost - $195.00

Course Requirements: All attendees are required to bring basic Personal Protective Equipment including Steel Toe Work Boots, Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, Gloves. DAXX will provide basic PPE to attendees in certain situations but all attendees are strongly encouraged to bring and use their own PPE as a mandatory training requirement for courses with practical training.

Spaces are limited, will be based and filled on a first come basis. Registration for each course is required and please note that walk-ins are not premitted.
